Hi Guys,

As the Title says, i had begun experiencing micro-stutters back in July, August as I thought the CPU was the issue since my i5 6600K couldn't OC as far as it used to after my Cooler Master Nepton 240m pump stopped working on me a few times, Then after receiving my new 2600X it was still having the stutters but less, but i noticed my 1070 was running way hotter than normal and would shoot up to 80's in some games and hover in the high 60's when not in that intense situations. Got it RMA'd through Wootware(did and amazing job in sending me an replacement quickly) Although the bigger stutters and hiccups were gone it is still micro-stuttering in the games I have installed now after an clean install for the 6th time! The only other variables could be the PSU or Ram, I already ran a few mem tests and they check out alright. I recorded a short clip.
I'm really frustrated after spending more than 6 grand and till having issues, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Specs before replacements:
CPU: i5 6600K
Mobo: MSI Z170 Tomahawk AC

GPU: Galax 1070 EX
Psu: Corsair VS550
Cooler: CM Nepton 240M
Bootdrive: Samsung 960 EVO
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm
Monitor: Samsung 27" PLS

New and Replacements:
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X (running on Wraith stock cooler)
Mobo: Gigabyte X470 Ultra
GPU: 1070 EXOC Sniper

I watched the video a couple of times now, but I cant see the micro stuttering, it looks fine to me...

silly question, what happens if you run everything without a case?

like I said, silly question, but what happens if its a micro short circiut between the MB and case?

Your CPU is holding you back. Your FPS drops below 60 which should never happen on a 1070.

I have a i7 8700k and a GTX 1060, and never drop below 75-80fps with everything set to its max.

I see your 1070 drops below 60fps.

Try disabling V-Sync and see if you get better results, as micro stuttering might be caused by the GPU waiting for the CPU.

Did you watch it at 60fps? also you can see the framerate is unstable and drops below 60 quite a few times

Turn off Vsync and the Ryzen CPUs benefit from faster RAM, at least 3200MHz.

I doubt since this issue is from when I was on the other cpu as well, but Illl do it anyway

Could be the crappy laptop i'm watching it on, will see if I get better (worse?) results at home with a proper screen

My onboard LAN port was bust due to a lightning strike. Worked on and off for a while and finally gave in. My PC would freeze for 0.5 -> 1 secs at a time every couple of minutes...frustrating beyond belief! Didn't realise my busted LAN port was the culprit as was running on WiFi adapter after the LAN port started acting up. Uninstalled my LAN port on mobo and never had a problem since. Not sure if it counts as micro stutter as I can't watch your video but hey, one never knows.

Ive had this microstutter on my 6600k as well, which is strange, and why Im so frustrated.

Ill turn It off and see what happens when I get home again in an hour, but yes Ive been looking at new ram at 3200 cl16 but don't know if its worth going to 3200 cl14 since then it will guarantee those speeds will work, on the other hand I don't want to spend another 4 grand and end up with the same issue

interesting, but if I'm not misunderstanding they're finding the issue when the framerate exceeds the threshold of 185, I don't think mine was running there but my frames should be round 70-100 on average.
I'm sure it's going to be buttery smooth once you turn Vsync off and your system can actually start doing something.

Yeah I always play with vsync on, Ill check what framerates I get with the 2600X with vsync disabled

Could reinstall windows if you haven’t already. Sometimes goes wonky with new hardware.

Also, if you have a second monitor with a different refresh rate, it can cause the skipping. Otherwise, turn down all of the cpu heavy settings like shadows, and try rule out specific hardware.

Think I reinstalled windows like 6 times already XD
