Replacement AC Adapter / Power Supply Cord for MSI Wind U100Plus Netbook

As the topic states, looking for a replacement AC Adapter / Power Supply Cord for my MSI Wind U100Plus Netbook.


I had to start fiddling with the connection to get it to charge until it eventually stopped working at all. I haven't actually got the netbook checked out by a techie, but I did some googling and this appears to be a common problem.

The thing is that just like I read the cord's connection got worse and worse, I kept on having to twist and turn it into order for the laptop to charge, until eventually it stopped working completely. From the forum posts I read other people had exactly the same problem. For that reason I'm 99% sure its the cord and I'm just looking to get a replacement.

The netbook is out of its warranty just by the way.

thanks for the help guys and PM responded to. If possible I'd like to just buy it in Durban as that will be quicker and easier.
 
Sorry to revive this thread from the dead but

laptop accessories haven't ever responded to me
Esquire told me that they had something that could work, but it ended up being the wrong voltage or something like that.

I think I have found a gigabyte universal charger that will work with it, but its like R350-00 plus shipping. Really not keen to spend that much on netbook which barely cost over 2k. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
 
Are you sure it's the cord/ac adapter and not the connector on the netbook?
 
Matrix Head office here in Alberton have some el cheapo ones that have a lower amperage rating. They go for about R99 - R150.
But I really do not recommend that.
The slightly better universal ones are rated for Heavy Duty and have a higher amperage rating, as does the one in your Amazon link.
Matrix has them, but they are also around R350.00.
If you want I can get you the specs tomorrow, and ship with Fastway to you.... if your local Matrix branch can't get them for you.

thanks for the responses guys. 99% sure its the adapter as I had to twist/bend the cord in order to get it to charge until it eventually broke. Think I need to try test before I spend money just to be sure, wish I knew someone close to me who had one :D
