Replacement of Oxygen Sensor

made of platinum, tells the ECU how well/Badly the engine is Burning Gasoline
so it can improve fuel efficiency.

They are also used to monitor catalytic converter efficiency or more importantly lack of efficiency such as when they are clogged or need a burn/regen cycle.

These guys are chancers of note.

I found the part online for R1.6k.

Also, I checked my major service breakdown and they charged R2k for 4 spark plugs (labour was charged as a separate line item). Daylight robbery. Guess I should have paid closer attention. Live and learn.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

I replaced the 4 o2 sensors on a Volvo once, was a pain in the ass as I had to drop the exhaust and getting to the sensors was difficult. But that quote is stupid ofc.

Anyway, as others have said rather find someone who can decat and fake the sensors.

For that price you can probably do a de-cat and chip. Get more power and better fuel efficiency while you are at it.

Thanks guys. This is exactly what I did. Did a stage 1 conversion and am very happy with the result. She is running so quietly once again, and feels almost new. Now I just tap her accelerator and she wants to run. Think I am going to hang onto her for a while still. Hubs wanted to me to upgrade to a Tiguan or T-Roc, but I think he should get the upgrade.
