Replacing the original car key (Programmable) for Toyota Corolla

Thanks for the suggestion but i have checked my insurance does not
Just a thought....
If you have out and about insurance, and you lost your keys, will they replace it for you?

I went to Builders Warehouse in Fourways yesterday and they have a kiosk by the tills. They have a sign up that says they do transponder keys, not sure about their prices though.

Hi All

I am in the same position. Toyota Corolla. I have 1 key and need to make a copy.
I am in Jhb, any recommendations other than a dealership?

Do you have the new key? And an existing spare?
Then you can do it yourself.

Forgot the name of the App and you’ll need a cable. Cost me R500 for the cable and programmed my own key for the Toyota 86

Worth checking it out

I do not have a new key

All i have is one key that I am currently using to start and drive the car

Interesting turn of event, I found a key in the boot. It has no buttons.
It unlocks the drivers door and starts the car but does not unlock the boot

Won't unlock glove box too

So that puts me back at step 1, i still need to make a copy because if i lose the main key, i will not have a spare key for them to make a copy of
