Hi Guys

I think the cable would be cheap probably around R100, does anyone have any experience doing this on a Tazz?

Phoned a few places and waiting for them to get back with a quote, but what should I be expecting in terms of $$$?

Thanks

Problem is that the car is sitting in my driveway with no cable, so cant even get it to a shop.I want them to come out and install it.

Howzit dude,

Where you based?

can't help you there :/

If in Durban or Jhb I could ask around :)

Generally speaking, it shouldn't be too much to sort out.

I've seen a few videos already, looks similar to replacing a brake line on a bicycle, simply clips out at foot pedal and then screws into the throttle body.How much moola can i expect to pay for this?What would you charge?

Unhook it from the carb or throttle body. Tie the end that needs to go to the pedal to the tip of the one you just unhooked. Go to the pedal and unhook it there and pull it through till you get to the end of the old one and the beginning of the new one. Affix the pedal one and then the carb/throttle body one and your good to go.

Very simple to go if you have a little of diy experience.

Where is a motor parts store around Stellenbosch/Strand/Gordons bay that I can just walk into and get the cable? These places I phoned told me they not going to sell me the cable, but they will do the work and install a new cable.Guess business is business...

not much, I'd be willing to part with R200 max, including buying the cable.

Thanks man, this is exactly what I thought it would be, now to just find a place that will sell me the cable :/

Did you try Autozone?

shoudnt be too expensive, unless it snapped in a difficult place like my clutch once did;

it broke at the mounting just as it goes into the firewall;
(BTW: not sure in DBN but here in JHB they can repair old broken cables).

id try autozone buy the cable and ask a mechanic to come help you quickly, buy him a coke or pack of ciggies;
sure if its quiet they'll come help you out......

quick job if you know how, us IT nerds dont as a general rule.........:D

Have you tried the toyota dealership?

and pay 30% markup on a part you can get anywhere;

one with a very expensive plastic bag covering it?
if you have no choice then yes, otherwise for something simple Id stick to autozone;

yep, Toyota will rip you off.
