yep, Toyota will rip you off.

they will sell you a VERY expensive box with the EXACT same part as autozone/midas

saw this when I got spark plugs for a kia EXACTLY same part just dressed in a fancy box that you pay triple for;

lesson learnt, parts from the dealer are way overpriced, when the equivalent is exactly the same just different box

and pay 30% markup on a part you can get anywhere;

one with a very expensive plastic bag covering it?
if you have no choice then yes, otherwise for something simple Id stick to autozone;

When it comes to cables, go re-manufactured or original.

Its all in the housing.

Those cheap chinese cables from midas and autozone chew through the housing in no time, and then becomes sticky and tight.


All cables, expecially clutch cable on older cars, go for OEM.


As a side note, I get Castrol GTX cheaper from the BMW dealership than from Midas. Also most of the other parts for my car that are non exclusive BMW parts are cheaper from the agents than from Midas.
