Great idea but the ultimate receptor "voelvokol" is going to be a letdown. Hope not but I forsee certain municipalaces ignoring cost that they would rather buy KFC with the money.

Report a pothole in 30 seconds, takes three years to fix.

Well at least you can then send a monthly report to the news papers stating how many potholes was logged vs fixed and see which municipality is the worst ...

That is exactly what we'll do, but the idea is to let them know which pothole has been reported the most so they can at least prioritize the worst ones first.

Luckily I live in Northern Suburbs, Cape Town. Reported a pothole last week by calling CoCT and it was repaired two days later...

COCT is amazing. I almost cycled into a drain with a missing cover in the morning. On the way home it had already been replaced.

No, three years to estimate how to fix it, and then another three years to fix it.

Really? And I thought Helen was doing such a good job in CT?

Here in JHB we had a pot hole in our street and within 3 weeks it was (poorly) fixed.

Why do they have to make it a freaking bump? Dont put too much tar and flatten it, why is that so difficult?

It's not as easy as you think. Get it wrong - as most workfare repair teams seem to - and three weeks later the filled section droops below the rest of the road surface.

Fixing a hole in a tarmacadam road is a darn side more than chucking in some filler and patting down the tar on top.
