I have found that they cannot match Communica's fair pricing. Except for Raspberry Pis, but that is regulated & they are official source.

You pay for that service though, their prices are not great. R35.5k for an AM2 Hubble and panels much cheaper at Herholdts.

Not the cheapest but when I bought my Sunsynk batteries they were one of the cheapest (same as Herholdts) and they had free shipping (for 80kgs of batteries that's not a given).

Wow man, prices have skyrocketed. Heroldts are most certainly legit, although they are a wholesaler, like Rubicon and Segen. In other words, they don't sell to the public, you need to register as a retailer / installer to buy from them.

You can also have a look at solarways suppliers. They tend to have good prices on panels.

It seems that the local supply of panels and thus the prices has stabilized. A few weeks ago 540/550W tier 1 panels were selling for R 4200 to R 4500. Now it appears they are widely available for around R 3500. 450/460W panels are still hard to find in Cape Town though, unless you find an installer who has stockpiled them.
