My brother and his wife from Johannesburg were at my place on Saturday and were very impressed with my setup (E620 data card in a desktop PC), they want to get connected in a similar way.
I have checked on the MTN coverage map and the area they are in looks like it is well covered by 3G/HSDPA.
The E220 USB modem would probably be the best for them, but if they can't get a good signal, I suppose an E620 PCMCIA modem in a PCI to PCMCIA adapter and external antenna would be better, although at extra cost.
Is there any way one could arrange to try an E220 and then exchange for an E620 if necessary?
Another possibility is the 3G router, as they do have computers at home (not currently networked), although I recall that these are quite expensive.
I would also like to know the current pricing for the various options and the different contracts on which they're available.
