"Reserve" tank

This is what still bothers me:

As per your figures you get a total fuel capacity of 65-litres while every single spec sheet I find says the E30 had a total fuel capacity of 55-litres.

From what I can gather, specific years had different configurations, and even in a specific year, the different models had different configurations...

A-ha!

never mind spec sheets. Whatever you find online refers to us/eu cars. South africa is almost always different in spec. Read an owners manual.

They claim +/- 75 L of capacity.

I ran my car to fumes yesterday and filled up and it took 73L.

So the owners handbook is correct. The under car tank then has to be 55 litres and the one behind the seat is the long distance capacity option...which is standard on all early e30's in ZA.

Ill snap a pic of that page in the handbook for you guys tonight when I get home.

I was about to say something along this line. Maybe SA's fuel issue in the 80s could have influenced the addition of an extra fuel tank?

I believe you, don't worry. It is all we were asking for earlier in this thread, but the guy that had evidence wasn't exactly helping his own cause. So apologies to Saturnz, but next time don't be so full of nonsense. :p If you have proof, show us.

You raised a valid point with regards to specs from different regions and it makes sense.

Intriguing that it was standard and then they removed it later on the model series.... couldn't have been easy or cheap to re-tool the production line for this change.

Im not sure if the late e30s have this or not as standard but I know it was still available as an option on the late ones.

I think it was standard on some models..

but the early 90's lower end models didn't have it as standard...

So show us your proof then if you please...

I said in this thread that if I were to post a picture, you would try you best to discredit it.

A different member posts a pic, and guess what, you did just that.

So whats the point I provide more proof to support my view, you will just try and sneak you way out of that too.

Wheres the proof you stripped your two e30s? you have none.

So you still don't have proof then... ok

yes like I didn't have proof there was a tank behind the backseat, but then look what happened...

wheres Fazda, so convinced of himself, I see he is quiet now, shame, it hurts to be wrong
