We have been having frequent disconnects and unstable connections every few minutes or even seconds
 
No problems here for the whole day in Reservoir Hills 031 262 ****

nope its not just you, i live on varsity drive it's been over a month since i could play online for more than 15mins. i'm with telkom home uncapped 2mb, i have cancelled my service though will, probably be using afrihost 2mb business uncapped from next week.
telkom say that there is issues with the exchange and users closer to the exchange are getting preference. not sure to what extent that is true. i find it hard to believe that there should be any issues with our exchange because it just got upgraded to adsl2+ surely it shouldbe one of the best exchanges around?
 
Anyone having problems today? My internet has been down most of the day though they did call and say the area is being upgraded..im in lower resi hills..pemary ridge

Hi. Yes i'm in reservoir Hills. Its down.
 
RVH has been upgraded but only the exchange .
AFAIK there are no external MSANs installed in that area.
 
Upper Reservoir Hills, upgrade in process.

Should be done by Monday. Got a automatic voice call...
 
Called the call center to advise them still no service.
Told that they are still working on the exchange and no eta is available .
Don't forget guys to request for a credit for days of no service with Telkom accounts dept.
 
Reviving this thread just to ask if there are any fibre drives for Reservoir Hills? Not too many people from RH in this forum though :(
 
I'm also in 031 262 area (Blair Atholl, very near pitlochry road), and my speedtest for the last week maxed out at 0.37Meg for a 4Meg line. CAlled a few days back, they say the exchange is being upgraded, for the next two days. Going to call again today.
 
Isn't the telkom line broken or something which is affecting the whole of SA. Read that headline somewhere.

HAve not seen any nearest is Telkom in the Chiltern Hills area, near Pitlochry school

Didn't not anything on my 2626 in Mount Baton Drive area
 
Last night, we had a major thunderstorm in the Westville North area (bordering on Reservoir Hills). As a result of the storm, my internet connection is extremely unstable. The line syncs for a few seconds, authenticates with my ISP, and then drops the sync. This repeats itself over and over.

Is anyone else in Reservoir Hills and / or Westville North affected?

Yes I am also experiencing issues, also since last night, during that thunderstorm. We had a lightening strike very close, not sure if it fried something somewhere.

Located in Chearsley Road, close to Chiltern FC.

Thanks, and welcome to the forum.

There was a lightning strike that was fairly close. It happened when it appeared that the storm was abating, and that lightning strike came out of nowhere. We saw the flash first, quickly followed by the thunder. I felt that we were almost at ground zero of that strike.
