As the title reads my daughter has one of those HiSense Sero 8 Pro tabs which is a really great tablet. The problem is, my daughter made a new password and has completely forgotten it

I have read online and have only been able to find ways to factory reset using power + volume buttons but the problem is, this tablet only has one button - a power button. Everything else is on screen.

Anyone know how I am able to reset this tablet? Don't mind loosing or the data etc, just want to get the tablet working again...

It could differ for different tablets, but I found something that may help:

https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/265157/How+to+reset+tablet+with+no+volume+buttons

First just make sure that there is no pinhole reset button anywhere(including under any sim/sd card slot covers)
Otherwise try following the steps given
1. Press the power button to get the option menu for

Power off

Reboot

Silence phone option.

2. on that menu you have to hold down that power off option on your touch screen while also holding down the home push button on the side of your tablet.

3. This brings up a screen to reboot into safe mode..(these are the 3 steps the company does not tell you that is why no one gets it to work.

4. HIt yes for safe mode and then hold down your power and home buttons on side of tablet till the dopo Logo appears.

5. Release both buttons and hit the power button one time and then hold only the home button down till a menu option appears.

6. Use the home button to move down to factory reset and press the power button to select. Once it says complete then use the power button to select reboot.

Some mention is also made of holding both the power and home buttons for about 30 seconds if the above doesn't work either

No reset buttons anywhere unfortunately.

I am just charging the tablet and then will give your suggestion a go - here's hoping it works.

There isn't a home button either. Literally the only button is power button.

Thanks for the link but no where does it tell me how to do the hard reset? Unless I missed something?

theres a forgot password option in the FAQ. if she remembers her google account password. Try it and see if it works. I have the same tablet. I also want to see if theres a way to get to recovery. I never needed to before

After typing wrong password 5 times, all that happens is a box appears saying I must wait 30 seconds before I try again...

Did you try expanding question 2 already? Is there no "Forgot the Password" icon on the lock screen after getting the password wrong 5 times?

https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

Then erase the particular tablet...

AFAIK on Kitkat if you get the password a few times wrong you'll be able to reset it via your gmail.

No forgot password - just locks you out for a minute or so.

You don't get any fancy options if locked out. It only show once unlocked.

Edit: simple reboot and shutdown only.
