Doubt that will work as they will ask for the password to unlock.

Not sure why they made it so complicated.

If it's not giving you an option that should be there, there's definitely something wrong. Users forgetting passwords happens...shouldn't be an unrecoverable situation. Else service centres would be overrun with people wanting help.

That was my thought all along. Could have been an oversight from them.

With the device turned off, press and hold down power button until it goes to recovery mode. Select factory reset option.
