Reset u740 to factory defaults?

A very satisfactory way, which also has the advantage of updating your data card if it's an older model, is to download the card 'firmware' (NOT the Dashboard software) for your specific card from the Voda site and flash your card with it. This is not as scary as some people make out and only goes wrong in a tiny tiny minority of cases (e.g. when Eskom lets you down in the middle of the flash process).

Not a huge download, only a couple of megs, and well worth it to have the latest firmware on your card anyhow. My U740 accepted it happily.

@Terencek - Reloading the firmware does nothing but back up the modem configuration, then flash the fw and restore the modem config - so it does not reset it back to factory defaults.

@v3g - your guess is as good as mine.
Currently my card seems to be locked in 3G only mode - this may be due to trying it out in linux (as per the howto) - this is the second time. :-( and I don't necessarily want to swap it out again for something that should be this simple.

therefore the attempt to find a way to reset it back to "factory" mode.

any idea?

I want to know this too.
Ever since I used the firmware from the vodasite, my card has been
semi-useless.
Its fine when browsing but when dowloads start or I
enter WoW its just "fails" the speed goes to 0.

I know its the card because it works fine when I put the
simcard in my cellphone. This is gonna cost me a whole day at VOdaworld tommorow....
