Anyone one here from Grahamstown/Rhodes?

I am looking for information on Resnet, like how much it costs, what the speeds/caps are like etc.

Thanks :)

I'll try and find you a link. :) Think its about R800 a year now, speeds are good, faster than ADSL, there's a quota system which allows you x amounts of traffic but it depends on the time of day etc. so I'll post a link.

WOW, that was quick :)

Didn't expect any response at all to this! Google was not my friend when researching this one, so a link would be great!

What you need the info for anyway? Not everything's on the site. ;)

Ya, I can't seem to find exact info about speeds/capping...

My gf is moving up there to study for a year so she needs the info and i had no idea about it. UCT doesn't have anything like this afaik.

i think its like 30meg a day or something lame, but fast, after that i think it still works but at a slower speed, but with all the stuff being shared on the network no need for large downloads, but multiplayer internet gaming maybe difficult. ComSci students get uncapped

My sisters had it for the last 2 years and say its crap, very low cap and bad international speeds.

When I was at Rhodes 2 years ago, they used a rolling Fortnight bandwidth system, whereby you have around 500mb every 2weeks to use, you are then throttled the more you use, until you are cut off at around 600mb-700mb, as far as i can remember.

Yeah, that seems to be the way of it right now. Not too bad I guess.

Do you know the name of the DC++ Hub that I need to connect to here at Rhodes by any chance?
