[RESOLVED] Axxess mobile SIM

So I ordered an axxess mobile SIM (1+1) on Tuesday as our ADSL line is down solid, and put my work's address down for the delivery.

Wednesday afternoon at 17:44 I got a call from the courier guy, there's nobody at the offices. Told him I'm already at home, and he said he will be back the following day.

Thursday came, and is almost over - and still no sign of the courier.

I'm going to wait till 17:00 before leaving for home.

How do these guys' delivery schedules work? I thought he would simply continue where he last stopped, but it does not seem to be the case....

The reason for ordering this SIM is because our ADSL line is down solid since Friday evening, and Telkom haven't repaired it yet.

Leaving now for home. Somebody else is wasting his (and his company's) time and fuel, not mine.

Madness. How can one look to deliver at a business address that late. If it were a home address then the time would make perfect sense

Received the SIM this morning at 09:57 :cool:

Plugged it into my Afrihost mifi, configured the APN, and it ROCKS! :cool: :D

Wife will be happy to be able to communicate via email etc again.

I ordered my 12gb + 12Gb mobile offering last Friday.
As of today I see no movement on the SIM order.

Have just received my yellow MTN Data SIM and provided RICA docs.
Axxess Dashboard reflected 'collected' and SIM active immediately after delivery.

Ordered: 1:30pm Friday
Delivered: 1:20pm Tuesday
Delivery time: 2 working days

The only issue I had was that the default 'MTN(Data)' APN was active and did not allow me to connect.
A quick call to the Axxess call center had me change the APN to 'axxess' and it connected immediately.
I'm in peak hour net traffic in the CT CBD right now. Attached is my speed test results.
Ill check later when demand decreases and post a followup speed test.

SUGGESTION TO AXXESS: Please a small leaflet in the courier bag with the SIM or send an email with APN setup instructions.

Hi SweetFennyAdams, when you sign up you received an email from us stating the following: "Once your Axxess Mobile SIM Card is delivered, simply click on the following link where you will find step-by-step instructions on how to change the APN settings on your current mobile device in order to get connected to the Axxess Mobile Network."

If you have not received this mail please send us your email address so we can check why you have not received it.

If you have not received this mail please send us your email address so we can check why you have not received it.

I received said email regarding the APN change. Maybe yours got rerouted to your spam filters?

I found it in the spam box.

I have to say, I'm not very impressed with my speeds on Axxess, but I cant blame them.
Since my last speed test, things went South last night.
I can't stream youtube and it lags when changing URL.
On a few occasions I was disconnected and tossed over to Edge.
Axxess runs off the MTN backbone, so it's an MTN issue with signal in my area.
It seems I will have to revert back to Telkom Mobile.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained I suppose!

My axxess sim used to connect automatically but not anymore. In fact I have to redial 5 times or more before it can connect. The issue remained unresolved so i decided to order a new sim only to find that the problem is not resolved. As a reseller I am worried about this and cannot resell the sim to my client with this problem unresolved.
