use elasticsearch. no full-text-search and MyISAM MySQL tables, more stable and feature complete than a custom implementation could be without wasting tons of money.

Not sure if there is anything like a 'bootstrapy' site. The templates on the bootstrap site? You can learn bootstrap and foundation in a weekend.

Those bootstrappy sites are just designers that's too lazy to change the structure and just change elements of the existing default template. You can't know, just by looking at it, that travelgo was built in Foundation. The bootstrap one will look the same.
