How much should it cost to respray plastic front and rear bumpers?

I've been quoted R1200 for front and R1200 for rear...which to me sounds a bit expensive...

I can get the front one covered by insurance because there is stone chips and the insurance covers stone chips...

So in essence I'll only pay R1200 + 200 for access...R1400 for both bumpers?

i paid r800 to get my rear bumper resprayed, charcoal in colour...

...but imo when stading in bright light the colour is about 1/2 a shade off, so i dunno if cheap is always the best the best option

Charcoal is one of those metallic like colours?

Anyway, I have seen parts of cars resprayed like doors at well know establishments and when it comes to metallics I reckon they all battle to get it right. Saw a frigging expensive silver merc the other day, the drivers door was resprayed. straight on you cannot see it but change the angle slightly and it stands out.

Just so you know if you claim on that your premium is going to go up. No question. You'll pay R1200 + 200 and get 2 bumpers and your premium will increase, not sure by how much tho.

Why will my premium go up?Why am I paying now as it stands anyway? This is not insurance per se...its that paint/dent/scratch cover insurance thingy, so its like R59/pm and your excess is R200 and your claim limit is R2000

R1200 sounds about right, but shop around a bit there are cheaper places. And don't go to the fancy looking shops with the new building and expensive beem's in the drive-way. If you're in the Edenvale area then there's few a places just off Plantation road that are very reasonable.

Why will my premium go up?

Because your risk profile increases, every time you claim their risk goes up, hence they ask more. Feel free to call them and ask, maybe I'm wrong but I have yet to hear of someone who has claimed and not gotten a premium increase.

This is not insurance per se...its that paint/dent/scratch cover insurance thingy, so its like R59/pm and your excess is R200 and your claim limit is R2000

Ah ok, well in that case it may be different, I'm talking about PROPER car insurance, as in you crash they pay ;)
