Monkey Island returns in Return to Monkey Island
The new adventure is being helmed by original Monkey men Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman.www.pcgamer.com
Yes please!!
I am very happy to see the April 1st announcement materialise into something real. As much as I am happy with Ron Gilbert running its development, I think they might tweak the original adventure recipe too much by the publisher's request to better represent the product to a new market. Adventure/puzzle games don’t sell nearly as good as they did in the 90s/early 2000s, Grim Fandango was the last real success story. There are some, but small exceptions.
Monkey Island is a big deal, it is an IP which still real value. I HOPE that Toybox use Thimbleweed Park as a basis and improve thereon.
Trying to figure out how they can ruin this with towers and loot boxes![]()

Well Disney owns Monkey Island I think so that's very possible....and woke politics in a place of a humorous story.
Let's pray its better than Thimbleweed Park and not another "baldurs gate 3"?![]()

Keep the original recipe, update graphics and you are 60% there
Get your monkey islandThis teaser is likely to be the art style, it is original, but modern,
however, I have seen announcements like these which has departed from what was originally advertised.
The last one I played was Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure. Was pretty good too.I still think there is a market for these sort off games. Just the re-playability will be an issue unless you have multiple endings or something similar
