Reverse park or pull in forward. Which one are you?

Usually reverse unless traffic. Prefer reversing as makes exit faster..

I think what it boils down to I've realized is the importance of what I'm going to, arrival time vs expected time, road rage experienced on journey and traffic in parking area. Odd.. But yes, seems to align with this.. If it's important or rushed i seem to not worry or be pedantic about my exit strategy. If it's of lesser importance or I've arrived with sufficient time buffered I use to prepare for a cleaner exit.

At home I park in garage forward.. Guess it's because I have no issues pulling out within estate in reverse.

What's that saying.. Victory favors the prepared

Pull in forward. Can't see how it is possible to be faster reversing into a restricted area (parking bay) than reversing into an empty lane on exiting the parking.

It's combined time. You having to reverse out of the parking bay also counts towards it.

I also find it easier to pull out of a parking going forward than reverse as I can see all the cars passing. Where if you reverse out you need to sneak out slowly till you can see the road both ways.

Surely reversing into a confined [parking] space is more difficult and time consuming than reversing into an open space?

I find it easier as I can just reverse in no problem.

When I reverse out 90% of the time you can't see any traffic until your out about 1/2 way to see cars passing or waiting for a spot. We don't always have car guards stopping traffic. Especially in Mall parking.

After having my doors bashed in multiple times while my car is parked, I know go to the Narnia part of the car park where nobody parks if I'm going to be in a mall for a while to avoid people opening their doors onto my car. Then I'll take up two bays if I can see that it won't cause a problem. This is what I do 90% of the time now. At home it's difficult to reverse into the garage because there is a supporting column separating the bays making it difficult to even park in forwards due to the tight gap and trying to turn 90 degrees from the driveway. I love parallel parking bays though, makes life easier!

What do you mean? If somebody cut you off before you got to your destination you will never bother reversing in because you're pissed off?

I've found that reversing into tighter spots with less room to reverse out of when leaving is easier. Ever been stuck pull forward into a spot, only to find there is little space at the back of the vehicle to reverse out when it's time to leave because some clever person left their car parked half in the bay opposite yours?

No.

Then I think I need to move to your side of town. I'm used to seeing people floor the accelerator just to get past a car trying to reverse out of a spot too, or just speed around parking areas. Joburg.

Forward into normal bays, into the opposite bay if available.

Obviously always reverse parallel park.
