Review: LG Chatterbox Plus

sounds as crap as the first one....

...and what would you expect for under R1500? Come on...

I bought my HTC Dream for R1K - secondhand, sure, but still, I think if you look around a little you could find something way better in that price range. For something marketed as a social networking and messaging phone I really would have expected them to get those parts down. One social network and (a) bug(s) in the messaging system is not getting it down. Moving right along...

looks like the phone was not even good enough for LG to put it on GSMarena, now they wanna clear the stock of their crapp phone in SA before they roll out the GT550 Encore... sies..

in the 1.5k range the Nokia e63 is a better option and I believe the C5 will pretty much do the same thing. I think LG had the entry-level qwerty market for a couple of months but are on their way out. There are even messaging phones for under R600 full qwerty keyboard (actually looking at [although really unlikely to ever buy] one of the alcatels mtn is offering as a beach phone, no web access but email) things offer interesting prospects on the future.

This phone is targeting the low-income earners.

Not too bad IMHO... How much features does one expect from a phone retailing for around R1500 ?

Hehe, well said. The no 3g network is a big setback too. I wonder why they omit 3g, Nokia does it too on some models. Is 3g an expensive tecnology? Anyone have an idea? 3 g really works well, at least on my iPhone 4. Edge is just a pain.

I use the original KS360, it has it's bugs, and it is slow, but it's keyboard is what I got it for. I use it to primarily IRC (using Jedirc), and then of course, Opera for Facebook, Twitter, MyBB mobile, Gmail etc. It works, and the bugs are easy to live with, and Edge is not too bad either for when I hook it up to my PC. You pay for what you get, and it's quite alright.
