Over 3 decades, the lowest 20% of earners saw their real income increase by 18%. Over the same period, the highest 1% of earners saw their income increase by 275%.

If that doesn't tell you that the system is broken, nothing will.

If the Occupy movement really represents the 99% they should put up a presidential candidate and "should", if their claims have merit, win by a landslide.
 
@Keeper Listen my friend, we have more then enough problems down here in SA. You talk about money and freedom and poor people, I am talking about life and death and violent crime. Who do you think gives a siht about your annual mikeymouse parades 12000km away? Of course the system is not perfect but what do you want to replace it with? By the looks of it, Anarchy. WTF Are you bipolar or something.
 
If we don't do something about the system, there WILL be anarchy.

- It's designed to make the rich richer, and the poor, poorer.
- It's designed to waste resources. the more we all consume, the richer they get.
- things are designed to break down, and be replaced.

How long do you think all this will last? The system is not working, we can all see it.


I personally almost think an Apocalypse with Earth "rebooting" would be a good thing......MAYBE.
Sometimes you need a total collapse and hit rock bottom, before being able to start fresh.

LUCKILY, this is not what Occupy is for most Activists. they just want the Fed to stop lending money with interest that is IMPOSSIBLE to pay back.

I give a siht. and I think there are plenty of other people, that also give a siht.

These people are fighting for YOUR Freedoms, your Rights. Even though they live 12000km away, the results whichever they may be, can have a big affect on all of us.

Maybe it just means that the bottom lot are pretty useless at creating wealth, whereas the top lot are pretty good at it. That's life. No laws, revolutions, ocupations, resolutions, protests or anything can change that. Even post-revolution, things quickly pan out that way again, even when you run a police state to force equality and engineer society. These Occupy kids are pocket-totalitarians. Time for them to get a job and join the real world where people have to work for a living, each according to her ability.

You think it's tough finding a job as a white person in South Africa? Try being a black person - even with BEE, there are still millions unemployed

So why look to the State or the System or the Great Wabbalabbalobulator to hand you a job, or a house, or education, or anything at all? That is such a wimp-out. Someone else had to work for the money that's given to you. It's called "taking responsibility for your own existence" and its the common lot of humanity. No revolution can change that. All socialistic/statist ones just prove the point.

The Occupiers are here today because their ancestors understood that very well and didn't lie around in dirty tents in city squares shagging one another and mouthing dreamy hippy platitudes about 'peace' and 'justice' and an end to world poverty. Gimme a break. Spoiled brat-o-lutionaries! They can be very grateful, but of course aren't. They're angry.

But now it's their turn to work and create. Or perish (and drag others down in the process).

They just want to know why big corporations get BAILED OUT with BILLIONS of THEIR dollars. and what happens? Oh yes, those same corporations then get to give large sums of that very money as "Bonuses" for "that awesome performance" What about those?

What about the Billions of Dollars of THEIR Retirement Funds that have been stolen?

What about the Federal Reserve? They aren't part of the Government, the Fed who prints the notes are a "for profit company"
Every time the gov requests $100, they need to pay back $120....so it's impossible to pay back, that's why money gets more and more worthless, and why debt is at $15 Trillion.

What about the laws they are trying to pass, to control the World Wide Web, which they do not even own...what about that?

What about the police who are now suddenly above the law, breaking the rules and beating up people who are practicing their rights?

What about the Gov trying to pass laws to detain people without question or trial, indefinitely?




What about all that?
I would like it if you can explain that to me Arthur, instead of just saying "But they must get a job like us"
