Chances are they would never of survived anyway then the same guns they had will be used to commit further crimes but that's a lot of assumptions.

The ANC are writing off this country. Read comments on this site from long ago and see how the things changed. All that was said then transpired or are transpiring and as such are fast becoming true. Many then positive members changed their minds about this criminal ANC mafioso cesspit.

He mentions blacks are the majority in SA so it's natural that most criminals would be black, then you point out how most inmates in the US are black, despite them being a minority.

The inference is clearly that their race has something to do with rates of criminality.

Those of us who aren't lefty liberals, and don't live in Hypothetical Land, will make decisions based on these generalisations, and will continue to do so until they're no longer useful.

Thanks for discussing this, as it really helps me to understand where you are coming from.

When I hear a person say "this country is sick" in the context of a recent crime, I imagine they're specifically referring to the perpetrators of crimes as being the ones who make the country "sick". I would not assume that it was the intention to group the victims with those who cause a country to "be sick".

Your other statements are of course all correct, but irrelevant in this context - we've already agreed that violent crime in SA is disproportionately high.

So to be clear: I don't think saying "this country is sick" equates to grouping everyone together as perpetrators, or writing off the country. To my mind, it is simply saying that our disproportionately high rate of violent crime indicates that South Africa has a major problem. At the same time we are a beautiful country (in my opinion), but this does not change the fact that we have a problem in this country in this regard.

Right on both accounts. Now give us the statistics of murders per race and crimes per race for South Africa to see the factual truth.

Wait...there are a deliberate ban on mentioning race for crimes and murders in the media et al..
