Don't seem to be able to find this out anywhere else.

If I get someone to get the special for me in bloem/pe would they need to RICA the card to themselves when they purchase? Or can I RICA it myself later on?

If they RICA the card and pass it on to you, it is your responsibility to RICA it again, and theirs to ensure that you do. If they fail to inform the correct authorities of this, they can be fined.

All of this RICA BS will have no effect on the criminals anyway.

Yeah I know... ie. pain in the arse... Would be ok if they give you the sim and you just have to rica it for yourself before the cut off date.
I don't think I'm even RICA'd on my MTN contract and I only started it a few months ago. I supplied them with docs for FICA so they really should have just done RICA as well.

Subject to instore activation.....

Errr, that's what they put on cellphones for R99 or so when you buy a sim card for R200... What does that have to do with RICA?

The sim needs to be rica'ed before it can be activated. But it depends from store to store. Just phone the store and find out.

If your on virgin mobile you can check by dialing *124#

Hi

The RICA process will have to be followed in the store that it is bought in.
However, you will then be able to go into your closest store, ask them DE-REGISTER the RICA entry for that package, and then RE-RICA yourself.

Hope this helps.
