Rich Mkhondo is the MTN head of Corporate Affairs.
Mkhondo is former Chief Communications Officer for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee. He replaces Ms Nozipho January-Bardill who has left the company.
A Rhodes University journalism graduate, Mkhondo is former senior journalist having worked as a correspondent for Independent Newspapers in Washington and Reuters News Agency where he covered southern Africa.
He has also worked as Communications Executive Manager and Spokesperson for South African Airways (SAA) and the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee where he was responsible for communication and public relations in the run up to and during the event.
Among the many roles he played in his professional life Mkhondo was also Managing Director of Ogilvy Public Relations (OPR) and is the author of a book titled Reporting South Africa that was published in 1993.
