Did some reading on mygaming and they dont realy have something to look out for in end game?

I played the rift betas, was great fun. It was much more enjoyable than my most recent WoW experiences.... however until the developers start becoming more innovative with their subscriber model I'm not interested. I would love to see a model where you buy hours of game time instead of monthly subscriptions whether you get time to play or not.

its like R60 per month if u buy 6months.
atm the amount of world events is just overwelming.
the rifts are like beste thing ever, they give lots of xp and lots of currency.
the guild system also looks great, some guild passives(bigger rift loot)

best part of rift, you can almost go up every mountain with a mount! ;)

and there are shinies (artifacts) to be found and rock piles to loot when you get up there :D
oh, and I love the game.

i got an epic world drop pet when doing a rift. pets name is Doombringer...its a purple bunny...

What sits me off here is, it cost the same as blizzard's subscription? So then no point for me leaving wow for RIFT :P

Aion has that pay-as-you-play model. As much as i can see why it would cater for some, I would HATE playing like that. Imagine knowing every minute you spend online is costing you more. Waiting for a BG queue costs money. Getting ganked while questing costs you money. When someone wiped the group in a dungeon...it costs you money. Farming will cost you money.

No thanks.

Whahaha! Yeah, I got the doom of Ragnaros's pet as well..you even get an achievement for "unleashing the Doom of Ragnaros!" when you bring it out the first time. :D Kinda reminds me of the killer bunny in the quest for the holy Grail.

and they will make sure to get their money such that it would work out more expensive if you happened to play quite a bit for the month.
I took the Rift 6 month deal which works out quite cheap. By the time new games like GW2 , Terra, ArchAge, etc comes out that should be about up and then I can decide if I wanna continue with the game. For now it is great fun and I'm sticking with it.

Your argument about the cost of the sub is a little silly, $15 a month is the standard for every subscription MMO out there. It's like saying "Battlefield costs the same as Call of Duty, so i'm not going to play Call of Duty" .

That said: if you are currently enjoying WoW, there's absolutely no reason to play Rift. The people that will enjoy Rift is people that are tired of WoW, but are looking for something similar, something new OR people that have never played WoW and want to start now. Problem with WoW now is, most players are lvl 85 and raiding, no one is leveling anymore...in Rift most of the players are still leveling and playing the "meat" of the game. This makes the zones more active, more grouping and just more alive while you are questing. If all you want to do is log on and raid with your 10-man/25-man guild buddies, then WoW is sufficient for that.

The highlights of Rift imho:

1. The Rifts and Invasions : This is open world events that occur in the zones while you quest. Rifts open and mobs pour out and they can even take over towns/quest hubs if the players in the zone don't fight against them. So it's a great way to break that mind numbing quest feeling you get.

2. The Class/Souls/Role system. Unlike WoW, Rift is extremely dynamic with the classes. There's so many options and it's so easy to change your class that you will feel like you're playing a new character every 5 levels. A Soul in Rift is something like a class. You get to have 8 of them at your disposal per archtype [rogue/warrior/mage/cleric] . You can basically build any type of character you like and then you can swop between "builds" aka "roles" at any time. So if you want an AOE-support healer for groups , but want to stealth-dual-wield melee while questing and want to have pet+bow for PvP ...you can create those builds by mixing and matching your 8 souls . So that alone is endless tinkering and alot of fun.

3. It looks a ton better than WoW. It's not "cartoony" , it got weather effects, it got amazing zone wide dynamic terrain effects especially during invasions where the sky turn red or dark depending on the invasion forces. It feels more serious and more immersive . WoW tend to have alot of silly gnome/goblin kiddie stuff these days and somewhere inbetween all this fluff there's a story that just don't feel serious anymore.

The rest of Rift is pretty much WoW with a little Warhammer thrown in. The actual "how you play this game" is 100% identical to WoW. You will get to a quest hub, grab quests, do them, return, next quest hub..rinse repeat. The rifts can throw your routine a little out if it happens to be in your quest trail, which is certainly nice to see. Crafting is nothing new, you'll do the usual harvesting/mining type of activities. The 5-man dungeons are good quality and on par with 5-mans you find at lvl 80/85 in WoW . I have not seen any raid content, but i expect it to be similar as WoW raids , Trion already said they are adding a raid during the world even at 30th march [this is on top of whtever there is already] ...assuming the players are able to beat the invasion.
