TBH, the one in Springfield is nice and close if you use the M19.
Makro is not the kind of shop you go to regularly so it doesn't need to be very very very close by, just easy to get to when you need to.

I think there's just far enough from Cornubia Mall for people to perceive it as an inconvenience to go there. Though I suspect if there were more developments between the Mall and Makro people will have a different perception

There's definitely an oversupply of malls in Gauteng, it's going to be a bloodbath for the medium sized malls

They do it badly in Menlyn though - in Sandton City, Eastgate, Rosebank Mall they close off properly (as opposed to window paper). Make it look like construction, or even drywall and wallpaper for some corner stores so it looks like a blank wall instead of an empty store.

In Menlyn one can add the type of stores in oversupply, endless, clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories and such shops.

There wasn't a need for a high end electronic shop they thought they could make the market but the real high end customers never leave their homes to even shop and some might go to more established Catz or sounds great similar stores if they wanted to physically buy something

I loved browsing through Dion Wired.

Although expensive, I enjoyed physically checking out the various items and also dropped a few grand there over the years.

Will miss them.

Same happened to me in Somerset West. Useless retail staff going to feel the brunch now. :|

I was in the Somerset Mall branch about a week and and a half ago, shelves were horribly badly stocked and the staff were mostly minding their own business.

Had exactly one salesperson come up to me in the 30-odd minutes I was in there.
