So I've decided not to buy new cartridges for my Canon ip4200 printer. It is just way too expensive for me to come by every time. The cartridges just hit bottom now. It actually sad, it served me well, printing quality is excellent, there's nothing wrong with it, and I wanted it so badly a few years back.

It just too bad it's ink cost so much.

RIP my canon...

Tried refilling the cartridges yourself?

Agreed, inkjet printers do cost an arm and leg nowadays.
No, but I have used generic ones, but that's always a pain in the butt with the chipped cartridges. And the quality isn't near the genuine cartridges.

Mines one head is gone, want to "sell" yours?
Ag no I wont sell it, what would you get for an old printer anyway, while the cartridges cost now more than I've paid for the printer. I wanted to give it to a friend, if he wants it.

I am Penguin wants to be your friend ;)

I have the ip5200, so yes it's the same cartridge. I paid R195 per colour. Bloody expensive.
Yes it's even more expensive every time I bought a set. I see at incredible it's R650 now for 3 colours. Then there's still the 2 blacks. Thats why I decided to dump this one.

95% of ink is distilled water a bulk buy of R500 a litre is expensive compared to some bottles of whisky or Champagne, but 20ml to re-fill your cartridge is only going to cost R10 - how this has not been dragged of to court is amazing
