I bought something from a work colleque for R80. I told her to keep it until I can give her the money the next day (I did not have my purse with me). She said I should keep it and I subsequently gave her the money the next day. That was about two weeks ago. This morning she asks me for the R80. I told her that I already gave it to her, but I am not going to argue and I will give it to her again! I am so peed off now - I know I gave her the money - R80 is nothing off my back - but she basically implied I am lying! She is in her early sixties and doesn't seem all there sometimes. So okay, I gave her the money now but I am furious! I will never buy anything from her again. (It was a piece of jewellry she made).

do you feel better now? no offence, you weren't ripped off. You didn't communicate properly with her to begin with. Why didn't you ask for some for of receipt, for this exact reason?

Shame cheri how do you keep getting yourself in these situations haha :D.

Just pay the old bat and get a receipt this time. Stop being so trusting. You sound like a very sweet trusting person who keeps getting screwed. At some point it won't be for small amounts so harden up now and trust no one :D.

I know. I am a d@mn sucker. I gave her the money now in front of another colleque and I am going to email her (and I am going to cc that other person in) asking her for a receipt.

Cow.

I work with her, I did not think it was necessary. I did not think she will pull this stunt. Part of me wonders if she genuinely forgot? But if that is the case, she must go on retirement. She works in the Credit Department for heavens sake. If she is this lousy with money, she might be a liability for the company

oh my. i would buy something from her on purpose just to get a receipt from her so that when she comes asking for the money again, dangle the receipt in front of her.

Tell her you didnt get the jewellery, get another one, then sell them both on bidorbuy.co.za for more than you bought them.
