Road Rage

I find it difficult to sympathise with the road raging arsehole who got out of his car to assault an innocent motorist.

So how did you make this judgement, have you seen evidence, do you know if the victim had a gun, why did the truck driver run away.

Never disembark your vehicle.

I've heard about so many people that have gotten shot because they couldn't control themselves. Each and every time they disembarked and approached the other vehicle like a tough guy. Just don't do it.

I don't even think the truck driver should face murder charges. IMHO he was defending himself.

I dont completely agree with this. Just because a guy got out his car does not give you the right to end his life. If you feel threatened in anyway and you have a gun on you. Shoot the kneecaps, but DONT shoot to kill!?

wtf is wrong with people today, everyone thinks they have a right to end someone elses life.

The truck driver obviously had not sympathy and couldn't care less, and shot to kill. IMHO, I hope they catch him and I hope he retaliates against the police so they can put a bullet in his head for what he's done. He ended a life and destroyed a family. He deserves to be put down like a sick dog.

How are we sure the Truck driver was innocent? And why not shoot for the knee caps as asked above?

I am not saying that the driver that was shot is not to share the blame however.

They were both at fault.

Had the truck driver not had a gun, likely the guy would have beaten him to a pulp, and today we would be moaning about arrogant and angry drivers who suffer from road rage. The only difference in this case is that both had road rage, both did not care about the after effects, and one had a gun. Thats all it takes. If he had the gun instead of the truck driver, likely the truck driver would now be dead.

I'm not saying I would do the same or agree with his actions. But the fault is not the truck driver's alone. The other guy could have avoided it by controlling his temper and himself.

The truth of the matter is, we have no idea what the victim was trying to do and why he approached the truck driver. For all we know he could have just wanted to tell him to drive like a human being instead of a taxi. Or maybe he did want to beat him to a bloody pulp? We don't know. And we never will. That is still no excuse for taking someone's life. Unless ofcourse the victim approached the truck driver with a weapon and was looking to cause harm. Which is obviously not the case since no weapon was found on the victim. I do not agree with shooting to kill in this case. Again I say, hang the truck driver by the balls.

Not judging the truck driver just yet.
the other motorist stopped his vehicle in front of the truck

So this guy forced the truck to a stop by braking infront of it, then got out and walked over... With what possible intentions?
You have to be pretty worked up to obstruct another car (especially truck) off the road in order to force a confrontation. What did he think is going to happen? If he pounded the brakes infront of the truck to screw up the heavy truck that truck driver must've been foaming at the mouth with rage and rightly so as that's playing with both of their lives.

Without more information, both parties are equally to blame imho.

Guy slams on brakes forcing the truck driver to stop and then approaches him. I've got no time for idiots who suffer from that sort of road rage.

Anyone who thinks that is acceptable behaviour needs meds.

That, sir, is just dangerous.
If you take the decision to shoot; then you shoot to kill. In that kind of situation you aren't shooting someone for laughs, you are shooting as you genuinely believe your life is in danger. This fellow who alighted from his car wasn't intending a friendly chat. That was a massive show of aggression - there is never a reason to leave your car. Never.

Furthermore, you're advocating that the truck driver should be killed by the police - what about his rights and his family?

Yeah I've always heard, if you are going to shoot, you shoot to kill.

But that being said, perhaps he should have fired a warning shot.

He also should have turned himself into the police - there is a good chance that his actions would be classified as self defence.

Where would you shoot a warning shot when on a busy road? Certainly not into the air! And the bullet could ricochet if you shoot at the ground.
You may just end up shooting someone else. No warning shots, no leg shots.
