Robert Madzonga is the chief of corporate services at MTN.
Robert Madzonga has over 10 years experience in the telecommunications field specialising in legal services. Prior to joining MTN, he was with Chamber of Mines (Rand Mutual Assurance), Edward Nathan & Friedland Inc, Basil Read Construction, Standard Bank and Telkom. He holds a variety of post-graduate degrees from UCT and Wits University.
He practiced as a lawyer before venturing into structured finance and project finance. He stepped away from the legal fraternity to join the business sector. His major assignment in the business sector was the development of the Phakisa Racing Course Stadium in Welkom.
It was whilst working in the commercial world that he realised the shortage of black commercial legal practitioners in the private sector and he then returned back to the private sector and currently holding a position of the Chief Corporate Services Officer at MTN.
