Hate these. Get many on my land line. Self serving technologies that make you wish to donner the guy that had an ingenious plan and created this system.

My method: Answer, put phone (portable) elsewhere so you can't hear it ... and continue with working.

use the dma opt out list...it doesnt block all but stops the big banks and insurers from contacting you, as they are members.

I have personally traced marketing to DMASA members. Were it not for details on the DMASA, I would have never received unsolicited contacts. Upon confronting these parties, you get "...mistake ...data processing error" etc and a lot of arrogance. Contacting the DMASA for violation of their policies by members is like trying to complain to ICASA about non-existent services by SAPO. Zero happens.

+1 for this, used to get a lot of nonsense calls;
now almost never; very rarely do I actually get any;

Make sure when running Truecaller that you do not download and activate thier database for South African "spam" numbers. That may be causing this to happen.

Rather add numbers manually as the spammers call you.

Actually a remnant from days, erm years, long gone by. Not sure why I still have it since 99% of the calls are not for me, though I'm sure marketeers would disagree. It's an unlisted number.

But once in a blue moon I still get business coming in on it. I have had that number for zonks, just like my one email address. But then this is private information as defined under law and why I then bite back hard at anybody abusing these details when I feel so inclined and have the time.

Incidentally, did I say I hate all forms of spamming ...

You don't have to block it, let the phone ring, and you will see it's Cell C calling from the true caller pop up; you can choose to answer it or not (which you might have done if you had known Cell C was calling).

I've been getting a lot of them recently. Never got before

Today was from 010 591 4460 Funeral cover. Didn't bother to listen from whom.

Was to lazy to block this number after daily calls but now the robo caller is calling me every 1.45 minutes even leaving its cut off voice mail messages. 3 so far this morning 1h 45 minutes apart. Also SMSing me spam SMSs in between from same company.

Added 010 591 4460 to my block list

It is for Hollard funeral cover. Ironic thing is getting so many calls while you are driving a person is more likely to get into accident.
