Gecko robot

Inspired by the gecko, scientists have developed a tank-like robot that can scale vertical walls and crawl over ledges without using suction cups, glue or other liquid bonds to adhere to the surface.

So how does it 'suck' and move up and down at the same time.
Only clean answers please.

this is actually old news, i have seen this on various science shows a while back

Looks like they just took some gecko pads, stuck them to wheels and went bam. Nothing crazy. They just seem to have made a youtube vid about it going "!!!!111!!!one"

Ask that robot to roll through sand first... then go up a wall. Then we'll see how well it sticks. This is also very surface dependent.

And yes, gecko pads don't use glue, but micro pores to stick. Clog those pores, and you are in for kuk.
