Hey all, has anyone used these roccat headsets before? I saw a couple of reviews and most opinion is that this headset is one of the best in terms of value for money. I just wanted to find out from someone here who have actually used these headset too see if this is true.

And can anyone tell me where do they sell these headsets and how much they cost in SA? Because unlike the razor and logitech headsets, a lot of the store I visited doesn't know about the roccat kave at all.

Thanks all!

I saw that site as well, but R1099 sounds too expensive, I think the price range for this should be around 8-900. But thank you for the effort, much appreciated!

Wow R1099, i payed R700 at Computersonly about 5 months back. It is amazing headphones, I tested both the Logitech G35 and the Roccat and the Roccat's came on top.

i have one and all i can see is that it's worth the R900 i spent on it. check for pricing alternatives.

Bought mine from Viva for R899. Although I won't recommend Viva anymore. Their service has gone to the dogs. The Kave is an excellent headset, sound quality and comfort wise. I only have two issues with it. Too many cables,4 analog's and USB and the material the cable is made of. The thing keeps getting twisted and you constantly have to "unwind" it again.

Guys how are they for more-technical-than-radio music specifically, as well as other stereo stuff? Can they play music as well as the Logitech G35s/other "normal" headphones?

All the reviews are making me very interested, but I won't buy them if they're "just for gaming"/surround sound stuff.

I think Ikonic have the Kaves for R820...

Got mine from Computersonly at Rage. (R999) Been waiting a while for stock. Have to say it is money well spent. Sound quality is better than I expected. I did find the headphones to be a bit on the heavy side - but they do fit the head well and sit without any pressure. I would recommend them to any one.

Music quality is pretty decent as well.....

dont know what you are doing with your headset, but mine haven't twisted once. as for the cables it is as any 5.1 speakers would connect with exception of usb being power/amp to headset afaik.

My cable probably have to much slack, that why it keeps twisting up. My pc is on the floor next to me, the control box directly above the pc on the desk and I'm sitting right next to the control box. So there is a lot of cable hanging between myself and the control box.
I believe most surround sound headsets only have 1 usb with the soundcard built into the headset.

Bump. Anyone?

Well PostmanPot, that's a difficult question. For me the music sounds great, however I have heard that some people say the music sound tinny. This has not been my experience at all and I wonder if it depends on the sound card. I'm very happy with the music quality. I have listened to technical music on a Sennheiser though and it blew the Kave away. However the Sennheisers were about 3 times the price and were made for music.

Another concern is that the Kave is heavy. It didn't bother me at first but it's something to think about.

I'm happy with them though and if I had to go back in time and decide on headphones again I'll take them again.

I had a set for a few months, the price seems to have gone up a lot! I picked mine up for +-800 from computersonly. I ended up selling them because I found them far too heavy, the 3 pads on the headband are very uncomfortable. The sound was good though and the isolation is hectic if that is what you are after. I just found I couldn't wear them for more that 40mins which makes them pointless for gaming..

they wobble a lot on your head when you turn because of the weight. My 2c :P
