Hi All.

I have my d-link router set with Unotelly DNS settings. All my devices work correctly (P.C, Tablet, phone) except my Roku 3 which states that Netflix not available for you region. (all other Roku channels work fine)

My set-up has been working up till about a week ago.

Any ideas on what the issue may be and how I can correct it?

You need to add static routes for 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. The gateway might be different though

My Roku updataed itself yesterday and is doing the same thing (Telling me they haven't come to my region yet).

So this is something new.

Netflix has already been successful with their android app in circumventing the blocking of public dns lookups. So we'll see how long before the Roku app gets the same treatment.

So Netflix is unavailable to android users in SA?

So I have my settings thus - which I hope is correct

but when I check the Roku settings, it says this

I haven't got a clue to what's up and I have rebooted the Roku and router

Had the same issue on my d-link but all seems well after making the routing changes for 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

I assume you've got the unotelly dns addresses in as well and have updated your ip with them as your router will obtain a new ip from your isp upon reboot. Then reboot Roku so that it obtains the new network settings.

Do you know how they are achieving this?

Yes I do have the Unotelly DNS addresses in.
If I ping 8.8.8.8 as suggested by Unotelly - I get a response (which I shouldn't)

I noticed your gateway ends in 9 which is interesting. This should be the ip address of your router eg 10.0.0.1/2 or 192.168.1.1 etc

You need to loop the google address back to your PC etc. They hard coded the google dns in their app. Works fine if you follow the unodns guidelines.

So plugged in my old, billion router, got netflix to work, but the wifi speed is so slow, i cant get anything to stream to where the tv is, ordered a tp-link, it better work, was looking forward to holiday time with netflix.
