Hi

I set up my roku HD. It already has an american set up. I also re-activated my netflix account and added the unotelly DNS settings to my router.

When I open netflix on my roku it shows the red netflix screen but doesn't load up. On my laptop I am able to access the netflix site so I am guessing the unotelly DNS works.

I also added youtube to my roku account on their site but it doesn't reflect on the device. I am also unable to open the channel store.

However, things like the weather underground channel works

Please can someone help me?

Try resetting it: complete wipe and starting from scratch. Install youtube only and if you get the channel to work, then move to Netflix, if that doesn't work then you know its about the routing issue.

First things first, try to get it to connect to the app store

So unlink and re link it? I can't understand why it doesn't connect to the app store...

I have a Roku HD 2500X. Is yours one of the $35 refurbished models as these are no longer being manufactured? Try to do a factory reset from the Settings Menu and see if that helps.

Try the soft factory reset first. If this doesn't help there should be a small hole underneath the unit with a recessed reset button which you can gently depress using a small tool. You could also try to change some of the addresses in one of the hidden menus to see if that helps.

EDIT: Take a look over here ...

You could also try to upgrade the firmware from the Home screen ...
Home x 5
FF x 3
RW x 2
click on “Update software”
