Going on holiday next week, we'll be staying in the Paarl but plan to visit Cape Town once or twice. So it is time for me to propose to my girlfriend, and I need some romantic ideas, maybe some fellow myBB members could help me out!

One idea I have is to do it on Table Mountain...but maybe there are other cool or romantic spots in Cape Town which could also work?

So to be clear, I'm looking for suggestions on the location, as well as the method to propose...have a few ideas of my own but looking forward to any cool ideas some members might have!

If I had to propose again, I would definitely do it at the Warwick Wine Estate, while having a picnic on the lawn by the little pond there, a picnic basket packed full of good food and a chardonnay on the ice..

Take her to Mavericks and have a stripper whisper your proposal into her ear during a couples lap dance ...

/I'll get my coat

no one can really give you good advice on this one dude.

I proposed december 2015. what I did is we had a movie marathon watching Lord of the rings.
then out of the blue mid movie I paused the movie slipped the ring on her finger and asked if she would go on an epic adventure with me.

for us that was perfect. every couple is different. you have to think about what would be perfect for you guys.

There's a spot in CT where base jumpers jump from, not sure where it is. I loved that place. As for the how, that would be up to what kind of person your gf is. Geeky? sporty? You can't propose to a sporty person with a LOTR ring :p

if she's into African kisses you can put the ring....

okay nevermind

Go to a deserted and beautiful beach. Then pee the proposal in the sand.

While doing the deed missionary position, pull it out and pop it in the poopah quickly while looking her dead in the eye like John Mongrel

If you choke her while doing this she won't have a choice.

I asked my mother in law for a bit of assistance when we did it.

We were going to visit them anyway on the weekend, so she suggested we put it in a cupcake so that she finds it whilst eating. I was so nervous I couldn't eat my own, and I was waiting to get on my knee at the right moment. Then she started giggling and said "Daar's ietsie in my koekie" ( ), and the rest is history.

I know she appreciated it being done at home with her family, but you will know better than us what she'll appreciate the most.

You guys crack me up :-)

Thank you for all the funny comments as well as the serious ones

Hung like a Ho3n3r?

I did it at home when the GF and I were alone.

On the night of the anniversary of us meeting for the first time. I put the ring on the collar of one of our cats and told her that something was wrong with the collar. When she saw the ring, she dropped the cat and it fled to safety as I proposed to her. We then spent 5 minutes looking for the cat so she could actually see the ring. Lots of fun and laughing.

The other ideas I had are listed below:
Go on a walk on the beach with her, then "find" a pretty shell that would "somehow" have the ring in it. Then tell her that you think something is inside it.

Since you are in Paarl, you could do a Parkrun(or a Parkwalk if you want to keep the sweaty times till afterwards ;) ) with her and propose to her mid run. At the Root44 run in Stellenbosch, there is a high point in the middle of the run with an unrivaled view of the Cape Winelands. Tell her you just want to tie your shoelaces and propose to her there, then go and have a feast at the Root44 market.

The other place that I was thinking of was going with her to watch the sunset at Steenbras dam. Then proposing to her with the sun setting over Table Mountain and False bay. Then going to a restaurant in Gordon's bay.
