Washington - President Barack Obama's campaign and the Democratic party raised $71m in June, well below the $106m hauled in by rival Mitt Romney and the Republican party during the same period.

It was the second straight month that Romney has raised more money than Obama as the two campaigns prepare for the November election.

Obama's campaign says in an e-mail to supporters that June was their best fundraising month of the campaign. But they tell supporters, "We still got beat. Handily."

Ann Marie Habershaw, the campaign's chief operating officer, says in the e-mail that if they lose the election, "it will be because we didn't close the gap enough when we had the chance".

Obama officials have warned the fundraising deficit could harm the president's chances of winning re-election.

It's because Obama is nothing but a long legged mac daddy..., and because Romney has half of Wall Street backing him.

Id rather have Obama over Romney in office, but preferably I'd have neither.

Clearly none of you are following American politics if you actually believe Romney is raising more money because the American people want him over Obama.

Nearly 80% of Romney's money come from large corporations, Koch Industries alone has pledged over $100 million. Citizens United, a conservative group won a Supreme Court case law allowing to lift the cap on donations, ie. you can donate as much as you want whereas before you were limited. This gave the American people fair voice over its politics, but now large companies are giving millions of dollars at a time to a single candidate.

Now why would a company willingly give away millions if it does not expect returns? But of course they are getting returns. Romney is advocating less regulation for companies (they are allowed to pollute more than they used to) and are given tax subsidies. In other words, this "bought" American president uses the tax payers money to finance the companies. Some companies are paying -31% in taxes. Yes that's right, negative.

In other words, American politics is more vrot than the ANC can ever wish for.

OK, then the thread has no point.

I have to laugh at all of the right wingers grabbing at any little straw that might lead to the end of Obama's presidency.

You guys are something else.

That's just Apache. I've come to learn that this guy is really some piece of work on this forum. He'll post anything anti-gay, anti-Obama and racist subject matter no matter what the article quality is like.

LOL remember that time he posted that article mocking Richard Dawkins over his ancestors being slavers several hundred years ago?

Or that recent one with Brad Pitt's mom talking about how gay folks shouldn't be able to marry?

And who could forget that time Apache posted that thread about Obama being a socialist quickly followed up by the thread of him asking what a socialist was!! :D

Oh thanks for bringing up those memories. Man Patches you really do scrape the bottom of the barrel for most of these threads.

Or like the time you admitted that you did not really understand Christianity or the bible for that matter but you still argue against both with great gusto :D
