Ron Bell is the general counsel and secretary of Yahoo Inc., where he oversees the company’s worldwide legal compliance and legal operations.
Prior to becoming general counsel, he served for 13 years in a variety of law department management roles at Yahoo; most recently, as deputy general counsel for global products and the Americas business unit. In that role, he and his multi-national team provided regulatory counsel to Yahoo's global product teams and structured and negotiated a wide variety of complex commercial transactions in Canada, Latin America, and the United States, including strategic alliances, content, advertising, procurement, technology license agreements, and Yahoo's global mobile product initiatives.
Before joining Yahoo in 1999, Ron was senior legal counsel and hardware licensing attorney to the PowerBook and Imaging & Printinggroups at Apple. He also worked in private practice as a general commercial, media, and intellectual property litigator with what is now the SNR Denton firm in Chicago.
