Real deny Ronaldo has swine flu
Real Madrid have denied that star signing Cristiano Ronaldo contracted swine flu during the recent tour of the United States.
The Portugal winger has pulled out of his country's international friendly with Liechtenstein this week due to illness and has stayed under Real's supervision.
There have been rumours that Ronaldo is suffering from swine flu and fears were raised that he could have spread the virus having overcome early symptoms to feature against DC United.
But the Spanish giants have issued a statement insisting that Ronaldo is suffering from the normal strain of flu and will recover within the next few days.
Medication
"Cristiano Ronaldo returned from Washington DC with the flu and has been told to rest at home and was prescribed medication," the statement read.
Ronaldo is unlikely to be considered for Real's next pre-season friendly away to Real Sociedad on Saturday.
