Sync Speed: 2016kbps (down to below 1mb)

Used to be on a reliable 4mb line and over time I couldn't sync at more than 2mb so I reduced my package to 2mb and started off well but now the sync speed varies between 1mb and 1mb

The entire line including phone and adsl has been completely dead since 3 November 2013. Over 10 days now. The call centre as usual is completely useless. We call them everyday and all they can tell us is it has been handed over to a technician. We have seen telkom bakkies in the area so I suspect there is a problem with other people's lines as well but it would be great if the call centre or anyone from telkom could inform us of such and give us some sort of eta for the line to be fixed. I think it's pretty pathetic that we will get charged for a month's usage when we have already not had any usage for over a third of a month.
 
@lilith. i have a friend in Belladonna who is also down for a couple of days now.

Why????

Why is it so bloody difficult to get Telkom to just come out and see that there is something wrong with the line??? We phone them and they say " our system says there is nothing wrong with the line". Fing come here and see how much u can do with the line!
 
I feel your pain.. that is a kuk exchange. Glad I moved. My 4Meg line was never up to scratch. Had a new line installed at the new place on a different part of the exchange, been happy ever since
