Roosevelt Park

Yes. Rather quiet; central; accessible to a number of malls and areas (Rosebank, Cresta, Northcliff); the Emmarentia Dam is just around the corner; the schools are quite decent. Oldish houses though, unless you find one that has been renovated.

I have heard that housebreakings were fairly common there, not so sure if this is still the case (haven't been there in years).

On the plus side, Thunder Gun is around the corner - and they have Guinness. School? De La Solle. Traffic getting out in the morning stutters from Greenside to Rosebank, after which Sandton and Midrand are accessible. Traffic to Auckland Park, Parktown, and town is a breeze (relatively speaking).

Very nice area. Houses aren't too stupidly priced, and they are usually older, so better built. Renovation might be needed in some cases. Risidale's also worth looking at.

Are you looking to buy or rent. If you looking to buy I would recommend getting a list from the sheriff of the court(repression houses, sometime you will have to pay for eviction, outstanding rates and taxes) . They advertise on the citizen every Friday. A friend bought a residential property for R1,5 million, fixed it up, sold it, made a R2,8 million profit. *He is in construction*.
