Ok I have rooted by Galaxy S3. What now?

I want to know what all the hype is about, you know, being able to do anything with your phone, etc etc.

Note: I will not install a custom ROM. If that's what it's about, then I've wasted a minute of my life :p

Install AdAway from the Play Store and never see an ad again... One of many more things you can do

Install Avast Mobile Security and take advantage of the firewall for specific apps and advanced security options. Well worth it just for that imo...

Security is not a bad thing but why do you need it?

Had my phone returned to me by the cops in Singapore because of mobile security and techno-moron thieves. I wouldn't have a phone without it now...

Install Titanium Backup. Even just the free app is very useful.

Oh yes, another one I use without even realising it. It does it all in the background and gives me a backup completed notification once a week that I ignore. Awesome app...

Ah yes. Had that as standard with my iPhone, need to make a plan ... does it need to be rooted though?

afaik samsung and htc but have native tracking apps that work well for lost phones, but like the iphone you need to actually set it up *before* your phone is stolen!

Yip, going through some forced updates currently before I can access those goodies ...

They're really nowhere near as advanced as Avast, which can protect your phone even if a new rom is flashed (i think) after it is stolen. And the firewall! THE FIREWALL!

I tried the Samsung app but it really doesn't hold a candle to the more extensive apps...
