I have 2 "village elders" that work for me. Both relate to me that their folk are very disillusioned with the ANC. When I put it to them that this would probably result in a stay-away at the next election, they were pretty vocal in saying that they would be changing their vote... and not to COPE or the IFP.
I expressed my surprise to them, as the old Transkei is a traditional ANC stronghold but they were adamant. They used the example of the last local elections where the emphasis was on service delivery and not to vote from loyalty to the "struggle".
Interesting times ahead.
And I do hope that the next party they'll vote for, will fix service delivery for all...
