Router advice please

As far as my experience goes, buy absolutely *ANYTHING* but the crap Telkom were supplying up until a couple of years ago. The Marconis were absolutely horrible, the Billions only marginally better. I hear they are (or have been) selling Netgear, well that is one hell of an improvement.

Netgear very rearely requires rebooting, most D-Links (and, for that matter, many other brands) have to be rebooted for every trivial config change you make. Can be a "little" frustrating.

Nothing wrong with the Telkom routers, they have always been rock solid. It's ok to bash Telkom but at least be objective. The Siemens, Marconi etc I have olways found to be reliable, not the most feature full but thats the way it works.

The Siemens router is way too expensive for what it offers and I had problems with it as soon as I enabled DynDNS on it. Its remote web administration page is also horrible, since it allows only 1 connection at a time and it took ages to load.

The Telkom Marconi ones are fine if you don't want to do anything fancy with it, since they're really reliable.

I understand people say dont go for cheap but when a Wireless N300 D-link costs R1200, a Netgear costs R1000 and a Canyon (also
N300) costs R399, am I missing something ? Prices are dropping so I'm taking a chance with a Canyon product. Anybody purchased a Canyon product before or must I be the brave/stupid one ?
