Why isn't there one? It's obvious that a router supporting multiple PPPoE connections is needed. I'm going to mail Netgear and ask them if they can include that in their next firmware update. They'll probably give me the finger but I'm going to try anyway.

Probably because there's not much demand for it, how many people in SA would really use this? A few thousand at most?

Denim I'm almost sure your router would support multiple sessions.
Most all of these routers use the same chipsets / reference implementation.

Why not just investigate flashing your router with some improved firmware?

routertech.org should sort you out and if not there is a version of openwrt.org for netgear routers that will afaik.

I'm running routertech on a unsupported d-link router no problem :) GL!

Thanks mate. Going to read the routertech documentation this evening.

The Mega100WR2 (Aztech DSL600EW) supports multiple PPPoE. I ran Routertech firmware on it and was able to setup traffic split. Though I could the same on the Telkom firmware as well.

I've got the wonderful Telkom Mega100WR (with semi 100WR2 firmware upgrade) and I can run multiple PPPOE sessions from it. Running a connection from the router and directly from my computer as well.

I think he means multiple connections on the Router, not counting the connections on the PC.

If you want seriously cool setup get yourself a wrt54gl and use it together with your current adsl router.

My WRT54GL is currently running 3 connections, local, international and unshaped. Depending on where I visit/what I do depends on what it uses :)

Rocks on so many levels.

am iam able to add various user accounts on my Dlink router, just dont know if it splits traffic etc

which is exactly what froot said. note his use of as well to indicate half-bridge mode possible as well.

What d-link do you have?

I have a spare d-link dsl-504t and I would like to try routertech but could not find anything which would indicate if it will work, only stuff I could find was that some things work and others not, it is an extra router but I don't want to brick it on purpose.

It is possible to have multiple PPPoE sessions on a modem (depending on the modem features), I did it with a Microcom modem. I didn't implement intl/local routing though, basically I routed the one PPPoE session/account to a certain computer and routed another PPPoE session/account to another computer, back then it was enough for me. Now I moved on to the WRT54GL solution (as KinsZA mentioned), much better.

Assasin .. late response... but yeah i have a 504T as well.

The firmware you looking for is

routertech-ar7rd-adam2-4ports-firmware-20080723

Annex A -- RouterTech_3.6.0D_20080723_2.60_AR7RD-4Ports_Adam2_firmware.upgrade.img

I run mine in bridge mode though - with a linux box currently doing my trickery.

GL!

If it works for me, It's like a dream into reality :D
