router keeps resetting

I have a crappy duoplus 300 router from telkom....

HELP!

Since last night my router resets at random intervals.

switched it off and reset it manually and tried again this morning.

This was my results: WHAT CAN I DO?

I checked again this morning.........

I switched off my router last night and restarted it this morning.

This was the series of events:

• Ran fine for 15 min, then router rest
• Restarted and ran for 20 min then reset
• Restarted ran for 20min then reset

What can the problem be?

What's the signal to noise ratio?

Happened to my billion router couple weeks back.
checked and got a quite high snr value, kinda disconnects/resets when a phone call comes in.
turns out my pots filter was the culprit.

Might be a power supply problem, or the regulator in the router. Is it running (really) hot?

luckily my wall had 2 sockets for me to connect to, so I plugged the router directly into the wall on socket 1.
then i plugged the pots filter to socket 2, then from the pots filter I connected the phone.

strangely enough, it didn't work when i plugged the pots filter to the wall, then plugged both the telephone and router to the pots filter... :/

Dont think i have that problem, cause when i unpluggend my line into the router power supply it still happend....

Sounds more like a syncing problem than a router problem. Send me a message with your ADSL line number and I'll check if it's the line that's problematic. Also check with your ISP what the disconnection message is on their server, will usually show if it's a Port Error or Admin or User Reset.

Just to be extra safe, switch off all connections to the router (pc/laptop/phone, etc). I've also had instances where a faulty program on my pc kept resetting the router. This just helps to isolate the issue.
