Router\LAN not detected on XP - Please help.

Hi there!

I was hoping someone could please help me.

I am dual booting XP and Vista and i have a 384 line with a D-Link DSL-2500U router. Now i have no problems in Vista getting on the net. But on XP the LAN connection to the router is just not detected. It just isn't there. I checked in Network connections and there is nothing, no LAN connection to the router.

I tried resetting the router to factory settings but nothing changed. I tried manually setting up a connection but that doesn't work either. Why should it work in Vista not XP?

Do you see the LAN connection in your Network Connections page?

If yes, does it say enabled, or what does the description say?

In XP i don't see anything. Nada. It's like it's not even there.

In your Hardware Manager, does it show your LAN adapter?

Have you installed the mobo utility CD (if onboard LAN adapter) or the LAN card utility CD (if it's a PCI LAN adapter)?

Oh my word, i feel so stupid. Can't believe i didn't think to install the adapter.
