I'm planning on getting the 8ta 10gig promo.
My question is: router or dongle?
Which one is best, and why?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi Laro696!

Let us try and help you out.

The router has wired and wireless networking capabilities. It usually costs a bit more than the USB modem.
The dongle on the other hand is a lot smaller and mobile. You will have to choose which one is best for you.

wifi router is better for most, as you stay connected and can connect with more than one device at the same time - disadvantage of most routers, is that you don't get sms to check balance - check balance online

I'm happy with my WiFi router. I have a R201. I usually just connect it with the USB cable to the pc and check the available balance using the software supplied with the router.

This depends on how you want to use your data.

I use 2 dongle's. One plugged into my 3G router at home and one for when I am travelling.

I use to use a dongle for 3G and then I got a router - best move ever. If you travel then consider getting a cheap Android phone with tethering or a WiFi enabled 3G dongle.

Thanks for all the replies guys!
I will take the cheaper option for now and go with the dongle. Maybe get a router in 2 or 3 months time.
Thanks :)

EDIT:
One more question. How much faster is the router compared to a dongle? Noticeable?

Depends on the network or dongle/router. I average around 3 mbps on a 7.2 mbps dongle... 8ta have a 21 mbps dongle but I'm not sure if their network supports those kinds of speeds yet. LTE trials start this week.
Seriously 'tho, TP-Link have a couple of small 3G travel routers that are dirt cheap... As long as you don't live on a giant estate their range is pretty good and the additional freedom of having your machine, tablet and phones on your WiFi is well worth the price.

If you use the same dongle in the router and the router is not limited to any speeds, then the difference in speed is negligable.
