1. Unplug all telephones, fax machines, etc.
2. Unpug the POTS/ADSL filter.
3. Plug router cable directly in wall jack.
4. Unplug all unnecessary ethernet cables from router (only leave the one to the PC)
5. Reboot your router.
6. Check stats.

thank you, didnt know the same fault on the cable can have that diffrance on 2 rooters,

also i would like to get another asus routher with a broadcom chip, just to test,if i can borrow one from someone that have one :P

hope this cable can get fixed and most of all get a good techie, had 3 in the past, even with WAY worce stats, and they says nothings wrong

Stop everything involving your router.... you have a cable fault.

hi,still waiting for feedback from telkom,

anyways, now that u know to what kind of dslam i am connected to,what router/chipset should i use?

lets say i get this fixed, surely using the right router will make it even better?

In your case the router won't make a difference. I use a Tplink... no problems.

thx, will see when they come out to have a look,

:)

stats look alot better than it used to be so thats good

getting everything how it should be will be great :)

still would like to know,is it onlymy line or is it the others around me also,

my main hopes is the whole box at the pole get replaced ,will upload a pic of it when i get home ,the one that is there looks veryold and dodgy
and get the cables relayed in the house, but wont get my hopes up on that,

thx again for yourhelp MickeyD

update:

techie came out ,showed him rapport,he told me its not very accurate,he taken out his laptop and did his thing
got the same report even lower ,tested again and found the problem is with the main line, and he is going to test each pole till he get the badpoint

the A-E wire, had a rating of 380,asked how much it should be he said more than 5000,already way lower than it should be,he tested a random like at around my distance and gotten 9999 (100%)

talked to him about cables and stuff,he realy know what goes on,
and 1st one out of the 4 that have a laptop to actually see if something changes

thank you mikeyD for all your help

will update this tonight when i get home,or hear from him again,
